The invention relates to a fixing unit and an image forming apparatus. The fixing unit includes: a film; a nip forming member; a heating unit; a rotating member arranged to clamp the film together with the nip forming member; and an end throttling member configured to be in sliding contact with the film and throttling a longitudinal end of the film. The end throttling member includes a first surface facing an inner surface of the film, a second surface facing a longitudinal end face of the film, and a third surface facing an outer surface of the film, the third surface being configured to throttling an end of the film to deform in a manner separated from the first surface.
