Summary:The present disclosure relates to: a solid-state imaging device for implementing a low-cost implementation mode of a solid-state imaging device capable of spatial difference output; a method for driving the solid-state imaging device; and an electronic device. The solid-state imaging device includes: pixels each including a photoelectric converter element, a first capacitance element, and a second capacitance element; a read circuit shared by a plurality of pixels including a first pixel and a second pixel; and a vertical scanning circuit for controlling the pixels and the read circuit. The vertical scanning circuit performs a first control of simultaneously reading mutually different capacitive element signal levels of the first capacitive element and the second capacitive element in the first pixel and the second pixel.
