Researches of the inventor find that the imine reductase and the imine reductase mutant provided by the invention can catalyze (R)-1 (1-naphthyl) ethylamine and 3-oxopyrrolidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester to synthesize (S)-3-{[(R)-1-(naphthalene-1-yl) ethyl] amino} pyrrolidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester, and the conversion rate of catalytic synthesis of the mutant is increased by more than 8 times as high as that of the imine reductase before mutation. The ee value is increased from 63% to 99%.
