Summary:An open roof assembly for a roof includes a movably disposed closure member, a drive assembly for moving the closure member, and a control unit operably coupled to the drive assembly. The control unit includes a clamping detection unit for detecting clamping of the closing member with the object. The clamping detection unit includes a first clamping detection system, a second clamping detection system, and a predetermined reference. Each of the first and second clamp detection systems includes: a tracker module configured to compare movement of the closure member and the reference, which allows a tolerance between the movement and the reference; a deviation module configured to determine a deviation if a tolerance is exceeded; and a clamping determination module configured to determine that clamping occurs if the deviation of the movement exceeds a threshold.
