Summary:The invention relates to a charge compensator for a heat pump. The fluid is configured to circulate in a first direction within the vapor compression cycle during a first mode and is configured to circulate in a second, opposite direction within the vapor compression cycle during a second mode. The receiver is fluidly coupled to the vapor compression cycle at a connection point.
