Summary:Coated glass articles include glass articles including glass having a surface. The surface has an adhesion promoting region that includes a nanostructure formed at the surface of the glass. The adhesion promoting region is composed of a material of the same composition as one or more of the glass composition of the glass. The coated glass article further includes a coating disposed on the adhesion promoting region formed at the surface of the glass. The coating includes one or more polymeric coating materials.
