Summary:Devices, systems, and methods are provided for treating damaged, diseased, abnormal, obstructive, undesirable, or potentially undesirable tissue by delivering dedicated pulsed electric field (PEF) energy and optionally therapeutic agents into a target tissue region, particularly within the vasculature. The therapies are useful for the treatment of a variety of conditions, particularly conditions of the vasculature, such as atherosclerosis and angina pectoris. Once it is determined that the target tissue region is associated with vasospasm, PEF energy is used to treat the target tissue region. Optionally, one or more agents may also be delivered with the treatment. Although the treatment of the coronary artery is mainly concerned, such treatment can be applied to other parts of the vasculature, including the peripheral vasculature.
