Summary: | The invention relates to a detection device for placement in a survey area of the epidermis of a human or animal subject in order to detect at least nitric oxide dissolved in sweat, said device comprising: a structure (1) defining a microfluidic passage for guiding the flow of sweat, said structure comprising an inlet aperture (4) allowing the passage of sweat from the epidermis, the microfluidic pathway comprises at least one microfluidic channel (9) communicating with the inlet aperture, at least one electrochemical sensor (10) comprising at least four electrodes arranged in series in the longitudinal direction of the microfluidic channel, the at least four electrodes comprising a reference electrode, at least two working electrodes and a counter electrode, the electrochemical sensor is configured to generate a signal indicative of the concentration of nitric oxide and further perform depletion and/or to generate a signal indicative of the flow rate of the sweat flow.
