Summary: | The present invention relates to a sample comprising lithium or a non-reactive lithium mimic for use in non-destructive testing techniques in ambient conditions. The present disclosure provides an electrode assembly for safe non-destructive testing in environmental conditions. In certain variations, an electrode assembly includes a current collector and a non-reactive lithium mimic material disposed on or near one or more surfaces of the current collector or embedded in the current collector. In other variations, an electrode assembly includes a current collector, a lithium metal material disposed on or near one or more surfaces of the current collector or embedded in the current collector to form the electrode assembly, and a non-conductive pouch holding the electrode assembly.
