Summary:A superconducting magnet assembly (12) is provided. The magnet assembly (12) includes a magnet (14) configured to generate a polarized magnetic field, a thermosiphon (206), a main tank (802), and a metering tank (804). The thermosiphon (206) is in thermal contact with the magnet (14), the thermosiphon (206) being configured to carry a cryogen therethrough and to cool the magnet (14) via the cryogen. The metering tank (804) contains the cryogen and is coupled with the main tank (802), and the main tank (802) has an internal volume greater than an internal volume of the metering tank (804).
