The invention relates to a medical infusion device and a control method thereof, the device comprises a control unit, a motor, a pump body and a pressure sensor, the control unit is configured to send a control signal to control the rotation of the motor; the motor is connected with the pump body, and when the motor rotates, the pump body is driven to apply external force to an infusion apparatus mounted on the medical infusion device, so that liquid in an infusion tube of the infusion apparatus moves; the pressure sensor is used for detecting the pressure of the infusion tube, outputting a signal and sending the output signal to the control unit; the control unit is further configured to determine a characterization value reflecting the pressure condition of the infusion tube based on the output signal of the pressure sensor; comparing the characterization value with a preset threshold value; when the characterization value is not smaller than the preset threshold value, the motor is controlled to stop rotat
