Summary: | A process for producing olefins includes passing a hydrocarbon feed to a hydrocarbon cracking unit, the hydrocarbon cracking unit cracking the hydrocarbon feed to produce a cracker effluent, passing the cracker effluent to a cracker effluent separation system, the cracker effluent separation system separating the cracker effluent to produce at least a cracked C4 effluent; wherein the cracked C4 effluent comprises at least 1-butene, 1, 3-butadiene, and isobutene; the cracked C4 effluent is passed to a SHIU that contacts the cracked C4 effluent with hydrogen in the presence of a selective hydrogenation catalyst to produce a hydrogenated effluent in which a 2-butene concentration is greater than or equal to the sum of 1-butene and isobutene concentrations. The process includes passing the hydrogenation effluent to a metathesis unit contacting the hydrogenation effluent with a metathesis catalyst and a cracking catalyst downstream of the metathesis catalyst to produce a metathesis reaction effluent including at l |
