Summary: | The present disclosure relates to a method of controlling an analog-to-digital converter, wherein a most significant bit is determined by implementing successive approximation of a first digital-to-analog converter and a second digital-to-analog converter. Further, the least significant bits are determined by time-to-digital conversion by applying a first ramp to the output of the first converter with a third digital-to-analog converter and by applying a second ramp to the output of the second converter with a fourth digital-to-analog converter. The direction of change of the first ramp and the second ramp is determined by comparing the outputs of the first converter and the second converter at the end of the successive approximation.
