Summary:Devices and methods for ultrasound-guided photoacoustic monitoring are described to provide diagnostic information for many clinical applications of blood oxygenation in blood vessels and tissues, including for early diagnosis and management of cyclic shock, including cyclic shock caused by bleeding. In certain embodiments provided herein, photoacoustic methods and devices for measuring blood oxygenation in an unknown vein are provided.
