A polarized light image acquisition apparatus and a thermal analysis apparatus provide a polarized light image. This polarized light image acquisition device is attached to a thermal analysis device provided with a pair of sample containers and a heating furnace, the heating furnace having a window or an opening through which at least a measurement sample can be observed, the polarized light image acquisition device comprising: an attachment part; a light source; a polarizer that constitutes a polarization filter and polarizes the irradiation light from the light source; a camera; a semi-transparent and semi-reflective mirror; and an analyzer that constitutes the polarization filter, and that polarizes reflected light, which is reflected by irradiating the polarized light, which has passed through the polarizer, from the half mirror to the measurement sample or the reference sample through the window or the opening, and enters the camera after passing through the half mirror. The polarizer, the analyzer, the
