The preparation method comprises the following steps: carrying out partial alcoholysis reaction on first regenerated PET, then carrying out carboxylation reaction, and then carrying out copolymerization reaction with PEG to obtain a PET-PEG copolymer; and finally, carrying out parallel type composite spinning with the second regenerated PET to obtain the RPET short fiber. The regenerated PET friction material is obtained by utilizing the waste polyester textiles, and the regenerated PET friction material is partially subjected to alcoholysis and then is copolymerized with PEG.
