The invention discloses sulfated algal polysaccharide as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The invention provides a method for preparing sulfated eucheuma polysaccharide or sulfated sargassum fusiforme polysaccharide by chemically modifying eucheuma polysaccharide or sargassum fusiforme polysaccharide. The sulfated eucheuma polysaccharide or the sulfated sargassum fusiforme polysaccharide prepared by the method disclosed by the invention is high in sulfation degree, the highest sulfated group content is 31.2%, and cell damage induced by oxalic acid can be effectively repaired, so that the formation risk of calculi is reduced, the occurrence of urinary system calculi is prevented, and the curative effect of the sulfated eucheuma polysaccharide or the sulfated sargassum fusiforme polysaccharide is improved. The traditional Chinese medicine composition can be used for preparing products for preventing and/or treating calculi. The invention is beneficial to the development of products for prev
