According to one embodiment, there is provided a motor control device having a sensor, a detection circuit, and a controller. The sensor is disposed at a position between a winding corresponding to the first phase and a winding corresponding to the second phase in the motor. The motor includes a winding of a first phase, a winding of a second phase, and a winding of a third phase. The detection circuit detects a timing at which the magnitude relationship between the induced voltage amplitude of the first phase and the induced voltage amplitude of the second phase is exchanged.
