The server may include a transceiver configured to communicate with the charger; and a controller configured to determine a required state of charge (SoC) based on state information of the vehicle; controlling a charger to increase (e.g., maximize) an expected profit based on charging and discharging from the SoC of the vehicle to the desired SoC and a charging cost for a period of time; and adjusting a charging cost of the time period while controlling the charger such that a first charging cost at a start time of a first time period of the time period is lower than a constant charging cost of the first time period, and the first charging cost gradually (e.g., linearly) increases during the first time period.
