Summary:A single-sided free space dense wavelength division multiplexer (DWDM) device is used for multiplexing/demultiplexing wavelength channels of optical signals. The device comprises an optical fiber, a collimation optical device, a filter and a mirror. The collimating optics are each arranged in optical communication with an associated one of the optical fibers. The wedge plate may be arranged to perform free-space optical communication with collimating optics for a first one of the optical fibers to direct an optical signal through a first one of the mirrors. The optical filters are each arranged in free-space optical communication with one of the collimating optics associated with a second one of the optical fibers. Each optical filter is configured to pass a corresponding one of the wavelength channels incident to each optical filter, and is configured to reflect any other one of the wavelength channels incident to each optical filter. The mirror arranged in free-space optical communication with the wedge pla
