Summary:The present disclosure relates to single-stranded RNA vectors suitable for introducing therapeutic agents, such as peptides, proteins or small RNAs, into or otherwise treating host plants. The vectors do not encode any moving protein or coat protein, but are capable of systemic and phloem limited movement and replication within host plants. The vector may be modified to include siRNA effective against bacterial plant pathogens. Alternatively, a wild-type vector may be introduced into a plant to inhibit or control bacterial infections in the plant in a manner of non-specific siRNA produced by RNA silencing or delivery silencing mechanisms of the plant.
