Summary:The invention discloses application of a PsLHCB5 gene in regulation and control of peony green flowers and fruiting, and belongs to the field of gene engineering. According to the invention, a PsLHCB5 gene coding sequence is obtained, and biological functions of candidate genes are verified through tobacco overexpression transformation and virus-induced gene silencing by an agrobacterium-mediated method. Compared with a wild type plant, the PsLHCB5 transgenic line overexpressed has phenotypic characters such as increased plant height, increased crown breadth, stronger growth vigor, increased number of inflorescence branches, increased fruiting amount, deepened leaf color and the like, but the initial color of petals is lighter than that of the wild type plant, and the total chlorophyll content of the petals is reduced after PsLHCB5 is silenced in the peony. The result shows that the PsLHCB5 can positively regulate and control the synthesis of the peony chlorophyll, and further proves the effect of the PsLHCB5
