The invention discloses a polymer emulsifier for AKD (Alkyl Ketene Dimer) and a preparation method of the polymer emulsifier. The emulsifier comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 45-60 parts of a dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride solution, 2-10 parts of a vinyl monomer I, 2-5 parts of a vinyl monomer II, 0.1-0.5 part of an initiator and 25-40 parts of deionized water. The vinyl monomer I comprises any one or a combination of acrylamide and methacrylamide; and the vinyl monomer II comprises any one of or a combination of hydroxymethyl methacrylate, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate and hydroxybutyl methacrylate. The vinyl monomer is added, so that the monomer conversion rate can be obviously improved, the content of residual monomers is reduced, and the emulsification effect is improved.
