Summary: | A coating, preferably color coating, method for keratin fibres is described, said method comprising three steps: activation, pre-treatment and bonding. The activation step includes one or both of a Praparin program and a Fundamenta program to produce a modified fiber. The pre-treatment step applies a pre-treatment composition of at least one PTH alkoxysilane having a PTH as a thiol, a protected thiol, or a group having complementary reactivity with a thiol to the modified fiber to form a pre-treated fiber. A combining step applies a film-forming composition to the pre-treated fibers to form a color coating.
