The invention discloses a water-based protective coating composition as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The composition comprises the following components in parts by weight: 42.1-46.3 parts of waterborne epoxy resin; 5.2 to 6.5 parts of water-based blocked isocyanate; 18.6 to 22.1 parts of pigment and filler; 2.7 to 4.0 parts of an auxiliary agent; and 19.0 to 25.0 parts of a solvent. The water-based protective coating composition can be used for coating rare earth alloy electromagnetic sheets in automobile parts and metal parts such as transmission shafts and shock absorbers, and has the properties of good salt mist resistance, volatile oil resistance, water resistance, PCT resistance, high pressure resistance, high humidity resistance, high temperature resistance, high hardness, high adhesive force and the like. 本发明公开一种水性防护涂料组合物、制备方法及其应用。按重量百分比计，所述组合物包括：水性环氧树脂42.1～46.3份；水性封闭型异氰酸酯5.2～6.5份；颜填料18.6～22.1份；助剂2.7～4.0份；溶剂19.0～25.0份。该水性防护涂料组合物可用于汽车配件中的稀土合金电磁片，以及传动轴、减震器等金属零部件的涂装，并具有良好的耐盐雾、耐挥发油
