The invention relates to a one-step modification method of leather scraps as well as a composite material and application thereof. The method comprises the following steps: firstly, modifying and finely crushing leather scraps by utilizing compounds such as a silane coupling agent, sodium hydroxide and urea to obtain modified fine leather scraps; uniformly mixing the mixture with butadiene styrene rubber, isoprene rubber, butadiene rubber, a vulcanizing agent, a vulcanizing aid, an anti-aging agent, a reinforcing agent and the like in proportion; and performing vulcanization molding to obtain the modified fine leather scrap/rubber composite material.
