Summary:The invention discloses a valproic acid refining method, which comprises: adopting diethyl malonate and bromopropane as starting materials, carrying out sodium ethoxide alkylation, strong alkali hydrolysis, strong acid acidification and heating decarboxylation, and distilling to obtain a valproic acid crude product; adding the valproic acid crude product into a first organic solvent, adding sodium hydroxide and water into the first organic solvent, stirring, heating, dissolving, cooling and crystallizing; and dissolving the separated solid with a dilute acid solution, adding a second organic solvent for extraction, and washing, drying, concentrating and rectifying the organic phase to obtain refined valproic acid.
