The system also includes a feed mechanism including a riser having a connector through which the molten metal material flows to the casting mold. The feed mechanism feeds the molten metal material into at least one mold cavity at a riser connection angle. The riser connection angle corresponds to the modulus of the connector. The modulus of the connector is 20% larger than that of a casting. The riser geometry corresponds to a riser modulus. The modulus of the riser is 20% larger than that of the connector.
