The method for thermally decomposing the used rubber is characterized in that the used rubber is brought into contact with a medium or swelled with the medium and then thermally decomposed, the SP value of the medium is 8.3-11 (cal/cm3) 1/2, the endothermic peak temperature measured by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) is 235 DEG C or higher, and the medium is liquid at 150 DEG C. 本发明提供了一种使用过的橡胶的热分解方法，其中所述方法表现出异戊二烯和柠檬烯的收率优异，而不降低热分解效率。所述使用过的橡胶的热分解方法的特征在于，在使所述使用过的橡胶与介质接触或用介质溶胀后进行热分解，所述介质的SP值为8.3～11(cal/cm3)1/2，通过热重分析(TGA)测量的吸热峰温度为235℃以上，并且在150℃下为液状。
