Summary: | A radiation reduction system includes control logic for controlling an imaging device configured to provide an image of a subject during a medical procedure using electromagnetic radiation. The control logic automatically determines operational settings for generating one or more medical images useful to the subject while significantly reducing total radiation exposure to the subject and/or nearby persons. The settings are determined according to factors such as age, body type, gender and the like. The control logic may be located in the imaging device, may also be located in a nearby computer, such as a desktop phone or smartphone in communication with the imaging device, or in a remote server in communication with the imaging device directly or through another computer.
