In some implementations, a computing device may present an augmented reality (AR) tag in an AR video stream. For example, the computing device may obtain route information regarding a route requested by a user and may determine a location along the route at which a candidate AR tag is to be placed. The computing device may determine a precise location of the computing device using camera depth information obtained in response to the user scanning a local real-world environment with a camera of the computing device.
