Summary: | The invention belongs to the field of austenitic heat-resistant steel material metallurgy, and relates to high-manganese low-nickel austenitic heat-resistant steel and application thereof. The high-manganese low-nickel austenitic heat-resistant steel comprises the following components in percentage by mass: 0.35 to 0.5 percent of C, 0.8 to 2.0 percent of Si, 19 to 21 percent of Mn, 24 to 27 percent of Cr, 0.01 to 2 percent of Ni, 0.001 to 0.04 percent of P, less than or equal to 0.04 percent of S, 0.3 to 0.4 percent of N and the balance of iron and other inevitable impurity elements. The method has the beneficial effects that about 10% of Ni is replaced with Mn and N, the cost of raw materials is reduced, by controlling the adding amount of C, the defect of precipitated nitrogen holes is eliminated, and by controlling the equivalent weight of nickel, a proper free-cutting phase is generated, so that the machining cost of castings is reduced.
