The invention relates to a winding reconstruction assembly for a multi-phase electric machine. The winding reconstruction assembly includes a multi-position contactor arrangement designed to switch a stator winding in an electric machine between a first electrical configuration in a first position and a second electrical configuration in a second position. The winding reconstruction assembly further includes an electromagnetic actuator configured to switch the multi-position contactor device between the first position and the second position in response to a change in polarity of a coil in the electromagnetic actuator.
