Summary:In a method for integrating a new component (IOTCOM) into a network (ISN), the new component (IOTCOM) having a device certificate (IDEVIDEE) of a domain with a domain root certificate (IDEVIDCA) and a network having at least one existing component (BOONEI) having an existing device certificate of the domain, and a request (IMPREQ) of the new component (IOTCOM) signed with the device certificate (IDEVIDEE) of the domain (IDEVIDCA) is accepted, and the network is configured to integrate the new component (IOTCOM) into the network (ISN). The device certificate (IDEVIDEE) is verified according to the domain root certificate (IDEVIDCA) of the domain, and wherein a response (IMPRES) signed with the existing device certificate and equipped with a network certificate (LDEVIDCA) is provided by the existing component (BOONEI), and wherein the request (IOMPREQ) is transmitted to the existing component (BOONEI), and wherein the device certificate (IDEVIDEE) is verified according to the domain root certificate (IDEVIDCA)
