Summary:An impact cushioning material for use in padded gloves for combat sports is provided. The impact cushioning material includes a first lattice and a second lattice, each structurally configurable to provide desired protective properties. The impact cushioning material allows for variable protective properties at different regions of the padded glove. Impact cushioning materials may be used to provide all or most of the protective material within the glove, or to be used in conjunction with other protective materials, such as conventional foams. The impact cushioning material may also be configured as an insert, allowing for replacement and customized use according to a wider variety of conditions.
