Summary:The invention provides a method for removing COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) in red mud leachate through catalytic ozonation, and belongs to the technical field of sewage treatment. The method comprises the following steps: pretreating the red mud leachate, and carrying out catalytic ozonation on the obtained liquid material to obtain an oxide material; a catalyst used for catalytic ozonation is a manganese-based catalyst; and deoxidizing the oxide material to obtain treated effluent. According to the method disclosed by the invention, the strong oxidizing property of ozone is utilized, and organic matters in the red mud leachate are oxidized and decomposed into CO2 and H2O under the action of the manganese-based catalyst, so that the content of COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) is reduced, and efficient removal of COD in the red mud leachate is realized.
