Summary: | A medical system (100, 300) is disclosed that includes a memory (110) that stores machine executable instructions (120) and an MRF scoring module (104). Execution of the machine executable instructions causes the computing system to receive (200) k-space data (122) and reconstruct (202) at least one three-dimensional magnetic resonance image (124) from the k-space data. The k-space data includes lines of k-space data (510, 514) sampled according to a three-dimensional star stacked sampling pattern (500). The three-dimensional star stack comprises discrete sampling planes (508) periodically distributed along a Cartesian sampling direction axis (506). The line of k-space data passes through a Cartesian sampling direction axis. The line of k-space is perpendicular to the Cartesian sampling direction axis. At least a portion of the lines of k-space data (514) are distributed between the discrete sampling planes.
