The invention relates to a crane telescopic cylinder measuring device and application thereof. The device comprises a cylinder climbing device, a distance measuring plate, a reset spring, a support, a pin shaft, a limiting block and a laser distance measuring sensor. Wherein the cylinder climbing device is fixed at the tail of the inner section arm of the suspension arm, the support is fixed on the outer section arm of the suspension arm, and the distance measuring plate is hinged with the support through a pin shaft; the distance measuring plate can ascend and descend around the pin shaft and is connected with the suspension arm outer section arm through a reset spring; the limiting block is fixed on the support to limit the rotation angle of the distance measuring plate around the pin shaft; and the laser distance measuring sensor is mounted below the tail of the basic boom of the suspension arm. The measuring device for the telescopic cylinder of the crane is applied to a fixed-point release technology of
