Summary: | Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, to techniques for prioritized signaling via a functional application programming interface (FAPI). A method for transmitting an uplink (UL) payload may include receiving, at a physical (PHY) layer, an UL payload from one or more user equipments (UEs); and communicating different segments associated with the UL payload to a medium access control (MAC) layer in different messages via a function application platform interface (FAPI). According to certain aspects, different segments may carry UL payloads with different priorities, and a segment with a higher priority UL payload is passed to the MAC layer prior to a segment with a lower priority UL payload.
