Summary:The invention relates to the technical field of coatings, in particular to a SiO2 aerogel water-based heat insulation coating and a preparation method thereof. The coating is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 7 to 15 parts of water, 10 to 15 parts of hollow glass beads, 40 to 50 parts of SiO2 aerogel slurry, 0.1 to 0.3 part of a first neutralizing agent, 3 to 5 parts of a coalescing agent, 20 to 30 parts of styrene-acrylic emulsion and 0.1 to 0.5 part of a thickening agent, wherein the SiO2 aerogel slurry is prepared by uniformly dispersing a silane coupling agent and SiO2 aerogel in a polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution.
