Summary:The invention relates to a tyre (1) for passenger vehicles, the rolling resistance performance of which has been improved without compromising the lateral cornering stiffness. The bead (50) comprises a filling layer (70) and a lateral reinforcement layer (60), and is softened by using a low hysteresis material. The lateral cornering stiffness is increased by controlling the contact between the bead (50) and the mounting rim (100). A length LADC of a rim contact curve is measured in at least one first bead in a first section located on a ground plane. A length LCJ of the rim contact curve is measured in at least one second bead in a second section opposite the contact area with respect to the axis of rotation of the tire.
