The invention relates to the technical field of medium-voltage carriers, and particularly discloses a positioning method based on a medium-voltage carrier system, which mainly realizes positioning through transmitting of a radio frequency transmitting module of the medium-voltage carrier system, receiving of a radio frequency receiving module, a medium-voltage carrier communication module, a coupler and a signal analysis module. According to the method, a radio frequency signal is transmitted out through a radio frequency transmitting module, a nearby radio frequency receiving module receives the signal, the radio frequency receiving module uploads the signal to a background system through a medium-voltage carrier technology, and the background system analyzes the signal and determines a signal source position so as to realize positioning. The method is a supplement for GPS positioning or Beidou positioning, and rough positioning is realized under the condition of severe weather or low signal intensity, so th
