The invention provides a cylinder head and a flow limiting plug of the cylinder head. A cylinder head for an internal combustion engine includes a casting and a plug. The casting defines a first channel, a second channel, and a bore extending inwardly from an outer surface of the casting. The first channel intersects a central portion of the aperture. The second channel intersects an opposite end of the aperture with respect to the outer surface. A plug is disposed within the bore. The plug has a distal end engaging the casting along an opposite end of the bore via sliding fit engagement, a proximal end engaging the casting within the bore proximate the outer surface via fixed engagement, and an intermediate portion spaced from the casting along a central portion of the bore.
