Summary: | The invention relates to a method for operating an ultra-wideband device (1). The invention provides that the ultra-wideband sensor (2) emits pulsed radio signals (TX) at different times (t) and generates respective channel impulse responses (h (tau)) which describe the respective reflected signals (RX) as a function of the path delay (tau). A time-varying channel impulse response (h (t, tau)) is generated using the channel impulse responses (h (tau)), where the channel impulse responses (h (tau)) are arranged according to the transmission time (t) of the respective correlated pulsed radio signal (TX).
