The head-mounted device may include a connection mechanism that provides an adjustable and replaceable connection with other devices to enhance performance of the head-mounted device. Such connections may provide both mechanical engagement and operable communication between connected devices. Accessory devices and/or external devices may be readily connected to provide different components and functions at different times as needed. Thus, the main portion of the head-mounted device does not need to include permanent components that provide each function that the user will later desire.
