This temperature protection device (16) is provided with: a storage unit (26a) that stores a temperature protection line (Td (t)) that is defined on the basis of the time during which current is continuously supplied from a motor drive device (14) to a motor (12) and the allowable temperatures of the motor and the motor drive device; a temperature calculation unit (22) that acquires the current value (I) of the current supplied from the motor drive device to the motor and calculates the temperature of the motor or the motor drive device; and a determination unit (26) that determines whether or not the temperature exceeds the temperature protection line. 本发明的温度保护装置(16)具备：存储部(26a)，其存储温度保护线(Td(t))，所述温度保护线(Td(t))是根据从电动机驱动装置(14)对电动机(12)连续供给电流的时间和电动机及电动机驱动装置的容许温度来规定；温度算出部(22)，其获取从电动机驱动装置供给至电动机的电流的电流值(I)来算出电动机或电动机驱动装置的温度；以及判定部(26)，其判定所述温度是否超过了温度保护线。
