The invention provides a mesenchymal stem cell and application thereof in treating acute lung injury, acute respiratory distress or pulmonary fibrosis. The inventor of the invention finds that the mesenchymal stem cells can reduce inflammatory factors and/or inhibit pulmonary epithelial cell apoptosis and/or regulate the expression level of key genes or proteins in related signal pathways.
