Summary: | The present invention relates to the production of closed linear DNA, in particular to an improved method for the production of closed linear deoxyribonucleic acids (DNAs), in particular for the enzymatic production of closed linear DNA molecules without cells, preferably using closed linear DNA as a template for DNA synthesis. The invention also relates to novel closed linear DNA species suitable for use as a template in an improved method for producing closed linear DNA. In addition, the invention relates to an intermediate product of said method, as a result of this enabling the number of closed linear DNA produced by the template to be greater than that of methods known in the prior art.
