Summary: | The invention relates to a method for pupil detection and/or pupil tracking by means of an evaluation of a spot pattern of light of an infrared laser (12) incident into an eye (10) reflected back by the eye (10). According to the invention, at least the light emitted by the infrared laser (12) into the eye (10) is scanned through a holographic optical element (HOE, 18) which comprises different refractive structures (14, 16), the different refractive structures (14, 16) being designed such that the different refractive structures each produce different visual defect corrections.
