The invention provides an exhaust control method and device for a main air pipeline of a rail transit vehicle. The method comprises the steps of obtaining a vehicle type and a vehicle operation mode; wherein the vehicle type comprises a passenger-carrying vehicle and a detection vehicle; the vehicle operation mode comprises an automatic driving mode and a non-automatic driving mode; detecting whether the vehicle meets an exhaust starting condition or not; and under the condition that it is determined that the vehicle meets the exhaust starting condition, various preset control modes are adopted for conducting exhaust control on the vehicle according to the vehicle type and the vehicle operation mode. Different exhaust control methods can be determined according to the vehicle types and the vehicle operation modes by considering the difference of the air consumption of the vehicle on the basis of the method, so that the problems of excessive exhaust and emulsification of the vehicle with large air consumption
